Itinerary

Meet us at Wild Expeditions in Bluff, Utah. After checking in at our office we will load the van and head North of Bluff to Highway 95. A short drive we’ll follow Comb Ridge one of the most scenic geological features in the Bears Ears. It is a 400’ cliff band spanning 120 miles from Bears Ears down towards Kayenta, Arizona. We’ll then pass through Comb Ridge and head out to our favorite vista in Bears Ears called the Arch Canyon Overlook. With red rock cliffs dropping over 600’ to the canyon floor this is a place we could sit all day. We’ll then head to the Cave Tower Cliff Dwellings and another overlook of Mule Canyon. This is a beautiful canyon with 7 ancient towers guarding a spring. This is a short 1/2 mile hike to the towers and we’ll view cliff dwellings from the rim down in the canyon.

This half day trip is a great introduction to Bears Ears National Monument and you will want to come back for more. It is perfect for travelers passing through or explorers who want an introduction before venturing out on their own. This trip is also suitable for most fitness levels and visits some of our favorite sites in the region.
