Blarney Canyon Cliff Climbing Rappelling

Blarney Canyon is a great canyon for beginners and experts alike. Short approach and one of the most photogenic canyons in the North Wash region. Several short rappels up to 40' long. The canyon rarely holds water making this a great canyon to do year round. During the middle of summer, we recommend Fry Canyon or Black Hole so that we can all stay cool in the water.

Meet at Wild Expeditions in Bluff, Utah at 8 am. We'll match everyone with the gear they need and load up the van. Blarney Canyon is located in the North Wash region which is about a 1.5-hour drive along the scenic highway 95. Once reaching the trailhead we'll load up our packs and begin the mile long approach to the top of the canyon. We'll take our time and you don't want to forget a camera since the hike up is very scenic. Once we reach the top of the canyon everyone will harness up and set up the first rappel. This is the longest rappel of the day and may push first-timers, but we'll make sure you are comfortable and you'll feel amazing after having accomplished your first rappel. From here we have another short rappel which drops us directly into the narrow gut of Blarney Canyon. The twisting red rock canyon is gorgeous. Hiking, down-climbing perhaps another rappel we'll make our way down through the canyon. After exiting the slot we have a short half-mile walk back the vehicles for a cold drink before loading up to head home.
