International Trips

In addition to our San Juan River program, Wild Rivers Expeditions has conducted interpretive land and river expeditions to remote corners of the world.  These have included rock art expeditions in Baja California, Mexico, archaeological expeditions on the Usumacinta River in Mexico and Guatemala, river expeditions in Alaska and archaeological and river expeditions in the Russian Far East.

As with our San Juan River program, our international trips afford the highest quality adventure with expert interpreters and unparalleled guides.  When conducting expeditions abroad, we believe in working with local guides and interpreters whenever feasible to access the best local knowledge, to maximize the cultural exposure and interpretation for our clients, and to promote an equitable economic exchange in the places we visit.  By placing economic value on the cultural and ecological values that our trips focus on, we seek to promote reciprocal relationships between ecological, cultural, and economic systems in the places we visit (as we do at home in Utah).
